Who are your people? Why are they interesting? What can we do to showcase them?

Why are we making this film?

I first met Andy Turner when he was Head of Academy at Cefn Druids near Wrexham in North Wales. Andy was clearly a different level of coach to most we’d experienced at the club and when I found out his back story I knew I had to make this film. I am a Tottenham Hotspur season ticket holder, my first game was the 1987 FA Cup Final and I was surprised that I didn’t remember Andy as he was playing at the club just a few years after that. When I started to research him I found that I wasn’t alone - for someone who’d held a Premier League record for 5 years, why wasn’t he a household name? As you will find out, injuries and other setbacks have given Andy more than just cause to let things beat him. However, far from letting these define him, Andy is a person who wants to give back to the sport and who better to offer guidance to young up-and-coming players than someone who has lived it, breathed it, suffered it and survived it? That’s what this is about.
