Why are we making this film?

I first met Andy Turner when he was Head of Academy at Cefn Druids near Wrexham in North Wales. Andy was clearly a different level of coach to most we’d experienced at the club and when I found out his back story I knew I had to make this film. I am a Tottenham Hotspur season ticket holder, my first game was the 1987 FA Cup Final and I was surprised that I didn’t remember Andy as he was playing at the club just a few years after that. When I started to research him I found that I wasn’t alone - for someone who’d held a Premier League record for 5 years, why wasn’t he a household name? As you will find out, injuries and other barriers have given Andy more than just cause to let things beat him. However, far from letting these set-backs define him, Andy is a person who wants to give back to the sport and who better to offer guidance to young up-and-coming players than someone who has lived it, breathed it, suffered it and survived it? That’s what this is about.
